Beginner guide: your first hours in CDID
Car Driving Indonesia drops you into an open world with no tutorial, real traffic rules and a damage system that costs you money. This guide covers the first hour: how to drive without wrecking your first car, how to earn your first RP, and what to buy with it.
What CDID actually is
An open-world driving simulator and roleplay game on Roblox, built by CDID Studio around a map modelled on real Indonesian cities — Jakarta first, then Jawa Barat, Jawa Tengah, Jawa Timur and Bali. You work jobs for RP, buy cars from brand dealerships, modify them, and drive between cities on toll roads that behave like the real ones. The Roblox page classifies it as Town and City; the current build is V2.7.5 (538 million+ visits as of September 22, 2026).
Your first drive
- Choose DRIVE from the main menu.
- Learn the cockpit before the road. The controls page lists every key — signals
Z/C, hazardsX, ABSY, lightsL. Find them while parked, not while merging onto a toll road. - Find an empty side street. Community guides consistently advise ten minutes in a quiet area before entering traffic: practice stopping, shifting, indicating and pulling away.
- Use your signals before every lane change. Other players read them, and the game models real traffic rules — this is roleplay, not optional flavor.
- Watch your speed near junctions. Collisions take visible damage off the car.
The damage rule that defines CDID
Every crash reduces your vehicle's resale value — documented by multiple guides, including Pro Game Guides' note that "collisions can be expensive." Two consequences for a new player:
- Your starter car is a practice tool. Do not cry over a dented fender while you learn — but do stop ramming things once you own something you care about.
- Resale value means you can sell damaged cars back, so damage is a real economic loss, not a cosmetic meter. Guides also mention repair costs; we mark that as reported rather than verified.
Earning your first RP
Do these in order — they compound:
- Redeem the working codes before anything else. Three codes at 350 million RP each = 1.05 billion RP, which replaces hours of starter grinding.
- Take an office job if your driving is shaky. It is click-based, needs no driving skill and cannot damage a car.
- Switch to taxi or online taxi once lane discipline holds — the pay tier jumps.
- Read best jobs for the full ranking and the truck-driver endgame.
Buying your first car
Dealerships sit in the cities — Jakarta alone carries brand showrooms for Tokoma (Toyota), Liaxe (Lexus), Mestibis (Mistubisi), BMR (BMW), Murceso-Venz (Mercedes-Benz), Hyunson (Hyundai) and Wuliuz (Wuling), plus modification shops. Before you buy:
- Check your car slots — extra slots cost Robux (see cars and dealerships for prices).
- Do not blow everything on one vehicle. RP buys cars; cars lose RP when you crash them.
- Modified and limited cars hold different value tiers — the cars page explains the tags.
Mistakes every new player makes
- Skipping the signals. Hazards (
X) are for stopping, signals (Z/C) are for turning. Using them backwards marks you as a tourist instantly. - Throttle confusion. Sources document both
W/Sand mouse-click throttle — if you accelerate with neither, try the other set (see controls). - Wrong gear, half speed. Manual shifting is real; sitting in the wrong gear kills acceleration and wastes fuel of momentum.
- Grinding the office after codes. If your bank is already in the billions, the office is you paying tuition to drive a fictional desk. Move up.
- Speeding everywhere. Fast pays nothing extra; crashes cost resale value. The net math punishes speed.
